#Digital Plastic

Erik,
Just D/L your last Museum piece (with LW 3.0 motion blur). Reeeaaal
nice! I'm curious though, is it true that Digital Plastic (maker of that
wonderful 1957 Corvette) will make practically any kind of object for a
pretty reasonable price (in less than a week)?:-)
BTW, I saw your AW cover. Didn't like it. Too Real looking. Needed more
jaggies or random pixelation (?) or something to give that good computer
generated look. You're starting to make us all work to hard, now cut it
out….

Why, thanks!
Yeah, Digital Plastic is this FANTASTIC little 3-D object construction co.
on the East Coast. Competitive rates, and quality objects!
(Probably their only weakness is not having LightWave or the Toaster. :^)
And to think that cover was done before I had Anti-aliasing,
Depth-of-field, & Motion Blur!
(Just _Imagine_ the possibilities now! :^)
Thanks again for your compliments, AND for your help on the Corvette job!
(I couldn't have done it without you!),

Erik,
Nice AW cover render! Was the monitor super-imposed over it?
What resolution was your final render? How big was it? Did you submit a
slide or an RGB file?
Curious…

On AUTOPILOT over Chicago Stadium, GO BULLS!
Thanks!
The monitor WAS shot later, and super-imposed. All I did was the
background scene.
The final image size was 3008×1960, and I delivered a 24bit IFF image
saved off onto a 44MB SyQuest cartridge. (The camera was rotated by 90
degrees to maximize the amount of image used in the final print.)
They used PhotoShop 2.5 to load the file and convert it to whatever format
they finally used..

Erik, please give me the Phone # of Digital Plastic. Perhaps I can get
them to do a Realistic T-Rex for a reasonable price. Thanx
/s
Peter,
Digital Plastic is the name that I put on my receipt for Erik when he
bought a few of my Corvettes he needed for a project. It came out of a
need to put something other than my name at the top of the receipt (just
to look cool if nothing else). Maybe I'll keep it after all (it looks
neat when other people type it).
As far as doing a Realistic T-Rex, I've done Dolphins and Horses so I'm
sure a Dino shouldn't be too great a challenge. If you have any
specifics, either leave a message here or give me a call at (609)
748-1827. I'm not sure what your timeline is, but I won't be able to
start anything for about 2 weeks. I'm currently working on an Imagine
tutorial for the Waite Group Press.
Keep on Rendering,

You can find him lurking around as James Green (aka Alan Henry) here on
CIS. (Maybe the mere mention of his name will be enough to force him to
the surface? :^)

P.S. He's one of those 'crazy' Imagine users, so you 2 should get along
just fine! :^)
OOOOOOEER, an Imagineer eh? Alan has already contacted me, and I've
since sent him Email. Thanx for the help Erik. Maybe my next reel
will have a Battle between T-Rex and a Triceratops or two. So much
to do so little rendering time.
