#Which adapter to get?

I'm planning on getting either the Texel DM-3024 or Toshiba XM-3401 CD drive. But what adapter should I get? Most of the kits include an 8 bit card. What advantage would there be to spending another $75 to $100 for a 16 bit card? For the near future the CD will be the only thing hooked up to the card. I'll be using mostly Windows and DOS but some OS/2 2.1 so I need something that will support all three situations. Also, will I run into problems using SCSI2 on an ISA bus machine with more than 16 meg of memory? I've seen some messages that say some Adaptec boards have problems with this set-up. Ken

I'm seem to remember hearing about SCSI cards on ISA buses don't like ram over 16megs too. You might try the (GO IBMHW) several scsi controller reps (UltraStor, Procomm, and others) are present quite freqently. They can give you the inside scoop on the controller and ram issues on an ISA bus.
