Imagine Objects

Aloha Folks, I just sent up another Archive of PD 3D Models for Imagine. I
converted them from Atari CAD 3d 3D2's via Syndesis Interchange.
The Archive includes a Basketball court, a Bike Ridden by an invisible man
wearing a Top hat,Gloves and Shades a P-38 Airplane, a Piano and a Town
Square. Enjoy.
I'm looking for a brain. Do you have a PD brain or is there one around?
A brain? Just a minute, . . . I know mine's around here . . . somewhere.
:^)
"A mind is a terrible thing to lose, . . . or to never have had in the
first place."
Sorry, I wish I could help you, though I DO have a nice Brain BrushMap.
(Sort of a flat, brainy kinda' bump-map.)
Would that be enough? (You'd have to find your own cerebellum to wrap it
around . . .)

Sorry, a brain brushmap isn't exactly what I had in mind. I was hoping somebody
had something more than assorted lumps. I'm looking for grey matter, stems,
cerebellum. Honestly, one would only have to model half a brain and I'd take
it. You'd think this would be the first thing a good modeler would make –
otherwise you're stuck with animating flatworms. Where is Darwin when you need
him the most?
That's a very interesting question. Do you have a PD brain?
-Richard
No, I don't have a PD brain, dummy, that is why I'm looking for one !
I'm not gonna step in this thread with a ten foot pole! No, not me, I
refuse to comment here! (but I am sure going to read it with interest!!)

Look a 3D brain is harmless – won't bite you, really.
I've never seen a PD brain 3D object. The only 3D brain I've seen is from
ViewPoint. If you have Essence for Imagine, you might be able to use a
texture for the surface.
Another idea is to find a IFF picture of a brain (or even brain coral) and
use that for an image map.
Steve
I've given up already on the PD brain and made one with Vertex. I got the
cerebrum, the cerebellum and the medulla made. It is really only half a brain
as I'm memory challenged (rendering <g>). I am having problems using the
Essence bump texture for the cerebrum. I've tried playing with the altitude and
scaling – but it never looks right. I have better luck with the treebark
texture. Any suggestions? I already made a brain brush map for underneath but
it isn't there yet.
I'd say put the bump map and brush map together, and see what that looks
like.
steve
I tried taking the brush map and coloring it – that was my "color" map. Then I
took the same brush map and made it a grey scale altitude map. It doesn't wrap
my brain entirely – not sure why – but looks great on a sphere. I'll keep
working on it. Looks better than a texture – I just don't think an Essence
texture can give it enough of the big bumpy texture- for lack of better
description – coiled sausage.
Hey Peter,
I was reading along the thread regarding the PD brain. Hilarious. I want to use
it in the intro to a book I'm writing (with Mike Miller) on 3D using Imagine.
What's Compuserve's policy on this? Would they give me permission? I would of
course seek permission of the people involved in the thread. Mary C., Peter G.,
Erik F…can I quote you? I think the thread about the missing brain is a
cyberspace giggle.
Philip
Quote away, good man!
I've been enjoying this thread myself!

I have no objection to having my Rantings Qouted.
Great, thanks Peter.
Philip,
The policy is that you need explicit permission from the author of each
message you want to reproduce. If you have that, go for it.

Good, I'm just missing Mary Copeland…you out there Mary?
Philip
Well, I'm not Peter, but you can use the quotes if you get permission of
each of the people you're quoting.

"If I only had a Brain" sorry I don't have any Brains
<Pun intended> Will look around for one. The only one I ever saw was from
VIEWPOINT and VERY NON PD.
Yes, I'd guess a good-looking, accurate 3D brain would be hard to find. It
would fetch a pretty penny when it did. If we could borrow Einstein's and get
it out of the jar – and to a 3D digitizer. There appear to be a plethora of
catscan type images around but I'm not interested in the interior. If I had a
collection of slices – maybe I could use the awful forms editor. The scarecrow
didn't have a brain either but it didn't keep'm back.
You COULD always go to a hobby shop and get a MODEL of a Brain and then
use a eyhole saw to cut it into thin slices which you could Digitize FLAT
and then assemble using Imagine's Skin function.
I believe the Model Brain is 1/2 Scale and the model is approx $15-$20.
Tho it's been a while since I've been in a Hobby Shop(something I need to
do to get glue etc for a Robot Model I got)
Actually, I believe there might be some PD catscan stuff which if it was
complete would give me slice and dice. It seems such a shame to cut up a model
brain (heh that rhymes!).
>I'm looking for a brain. Do you have a PD brain or is there one around?
No, I don't have a PD brain, the one I have I was born with.
Soory to hear that you are `looking' for a brain, I bet they made fun at
you in school for not having a brain. :^)
Did you play the part of the scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz singing the
song `If I only had a brain'?
<<< Tony D. Tracer >>>
I'm looking for a public domain brain so I wouldn't have to model one. I can
see you don't have one to loan. Singing doesn't help much.
If yer into Python you can BUY a External BRAIN, just don't try to adjust
it yerself.
>a Bike Ridden by an invisible man wearing a Top hat,Gloves and Shades
The description of the file only said `a Invisible man on a Bike' so I was
going to ask how would we know he WAS there? :^)
You know I built the `Stealth' bomber for the USAF and when they came to
pick it up I said it was `other there' and they said `where, I don't see
anything?'. :^)
<<< Tony D. Tracer >>>
Yer a sick sick man. hehehehehehehe Did you DL that archive of Converted
3D models? They are pretty good except for the coloring.
Did you DL that archive of Converted 3D models? No not yet, but I
will as soon as I have some time to play around.
no problem Tony. BTW are you submitting any footage to the "Great CI$
Animation Tape"???? I've only seen your Romulan Decloak anim and Loved
it and hope to see more of yer work.
>are you submitting any footage to the "Great CI$ Animation Tape"????
I'd love to and am trying to get the story I did about a year ago of my
ED-209. Now I could do a MUCH better job of it but that is the way it
goes. I have the anim files in back-up so I'll have to dig them out and
play them to tape, unfortunately I never did add any audio to it but it
seems most of these submitions won't have audio either.
<<< Tony D. Tracer >>>
I'd love to see yer ED-209 Anim as well.
>I'd love to see yer ED-209 Anim as well.
I have found all the other anims except for that one, well it probably for
the better since I never did FINISH it.
With my luck, I will probably find it right after I send the tape out.
:^)
<<< Tony D. Tracer >>>
Alas poor ED-209, I knew him Horatio a Bot of infinite jest and
wisdom….
Glad to see you'll have some work on the Great Compuserve Animation
