Ouch, David, that Music-X comments really hurt. I'll talk to Todor and
find out how difficult it would be to add MFF0. Unfortunately, there are
so many exciting things we're working on for Bars&Pipes that adding MFF0
might have to take a back seat. I tell you this only because I wouldn't
want to promise you something I couldn't absolutely deliver. I'll let you
know what the consensus is here.
We are adding a DMCS converter and a SMUS converter, though. ?exit oop!
Melissa,
Isn't competition wonderful? 8)
As always, your plans for improvement of Bars & Pipes are very exciting. I
wish that all Amiga developers would follow your lead in this regard. The
way that you're supporting Bars & Pipes makes me wish that you would come
out with a lot more software in the business or productivity areas, too.
(Personally, I'd much rather have a DMCS converter first, anyway. 8)
David
Unfortunately, the business/productivity market is a weak one for the
Amiga. We'd love to support it, but will it support us?
Melissa,
Unfortunately, it's sort of a catch-22 problem, in that developers won't
develop until the market is there and the market won't buy into the Amiga
platform until the software _AND_ the support is there. In this case, the
market's opinion prevails and unless the developers take the initiative and
the risk, things just aren't going to happen.
I do believe though, that if the quality of programming and committment to
support that Blue Ribbon Bakery has demonstrated were available in the
business/productivity market, that things would start to happen. Slowly at
first, but they would happen.
David
Thanks, David. I'll keep your comments in mind for the future.
I'm writing a book on Imagine and was delighted by the PD brain
thread. Can I quote you?
Quote away.
Thanks Margaret.

How about "The Man (or Woman) With Two PD Brains". *8)

Stegosaurus had two, fore and aft. My eight year old daughter was
wondering what happened if either brain died – do you still carry on
or does your tail sag (if you're a Stegosaurus) ? These are hard
questions.

That brings up an interesting question or two. Can they be declared
legaly dead if only one brain died? Can thier estate be settled if
they are legaly one brain dead or must they be two brain dead? What
happens if the front brain disagrees with the rear brain? Suppose
the front brain likes blondes and the rear brunettes? (I could apply
this to the signature thread in AUser!) Ahhh…… the mysteries of
life. If the answer is anywhere it will be found in AmigaArts!
The answer might be found in AmigaArts but I don't think the brain will.
I'm sure it will (after you find one and work your magic on it!)
eventually.
I made my own brain – couldn't wait. It isn't perfect but it looks
pretty brainy. I have it at an art gallery with glasses looking at
two paintings. It is close to being done so I'll upload the scene
when finished. I might upload the brain object if people want it and
maybe a modeling wizard can work on it a bit.
If I only had a brain! :^)
Yes, please upload it for us all to enjoy!

Ok, here it comes <g>.
I'd LOVE to see yer Brain. Both the Model and a rendering or two. Mybe
you should JPEG a rendering of it and send to John Gager as well.
He's looking for images for a CDROM, could be 15 minutes of Fame.
I can see some interesting Sci Fi Beasties being made with yer Brain
Object in it(exposed of course)
I upload the Brain jpeg but I'm not sure how to upload the brain
itself. I have a cerebellum, a cerebrum and a brain stem. The
cerebrum is sort of an extra and the brain stem only makes it with an
Essence texture. I'm not sure I should group them or just put them
together one by one in a LZH package. What does Ms. Manners say
about uploading brain objects? I can't think that anybody would want
to animate the parts but I guess you never know. The brain has lots
of faces so I guess it would expand and explode well.
Ha! Exploding brains…. 🙂
Anyway, I've you'd like to upload the object, I'd recommend grouping the
object. Specify in the object attributes the Essence texture to use, but
don't upload the Essence texture itself.
Steve
How do you like your exploding brains? *8)

Ok, sounds like a plan and I'll do it.
I'd say group the Brain bits together and LZH them, of course DON'T
include the Essence textures as that would be naughty tho you can leave
them setup in the models. I loolk forward to seeing your Brain.
That is what I'll do.

I can see it now `The PD Brain With A Mind of it's Own' coming soon
to a rendering station near you!
Actually I was thinking along the lines of that old B&W Thriller with the
Brain terrorizing the Dr and his assistant and in the end they use an AX
on the Brain. It just floated around. Details are sketchy it's been YEARS
since I saw this flick.
Regarding the original topic of brainwork, when I was a kid my Mom
used to cook this grisly dish for my older brother (he was a jock who
looked like Elvis and was almost as cool). It was Lamb's Brains. I
used to have to run to the neigh- borhood butcher store and get fresh
brains for him. It came in a carton with some brain juice or
soething, but it did look alot like a human brain. Get one soon from
a friendly meat market and crank up your DCTV or digitizer of choice
and you'd get a great iff brush map. Maybe even an altitude map.If it
didn't work out you could just say "my brains are on the lamb"…
And here's another question. What if a stegasaurus living around, say, 1600
was found guilty of an offense that involved the tail, probably a sexual
battery of some type and magnitude? Would he be beheaded or betailed?
Steggy would still carry on, but he'd no longer be the life of the party
with a sagging tail. And the ladies would have nothing to do with him
anymore. (sniffle)

Yes, I guess they'd flock to Barney who's brain dead on both ends.
Yes, he's brain-dead, but he's your *friend.* 🙂
A really neat kid who lives directly behind me is one of the
participants on Barney. Name is Brian Epps. His father and his aunt
were students of mine when I first began teaching.
Barney's a bit too sweet for me. It was amazing how appealing he was to
Harriet's newborn – they must be using some magic musical technique to lure
babies. I was born a bit too early for Sesame Street, so I spent my early
years in fields and woods ad books and basements.
My 2 year old grandson loves Barney. I think that must be the age group they
are aimed to. Anyway, I was very much surprised to learn that my cute little
neighbor was acting on the show. He's in the 7th grade this year, so I suspect
he will be getting too old for the show pretty soon, but he's had had lots of
fun doing it up to now. He says it has kept him from playing football, though,
and that has been painful to him.
As for me – I only watch the show when my grandson is around, and that is not
frequent.

What town is it?

ok, When does Principal Photography start on the Epic? hehehehehehehehe
I still have a film idea in my Craw "The Dominitor" a Terminator Ripoff.
You'll even see a Test of an FX idea for it on the Demo reel. You'll see a
Android from the Waist up morph into my Cousin Dominic.
I remember in Terminator II, a scene where Arnie rode his motorcycle off
of that overpasse. They had the cycle attached to a crane and used it to
give the scene a more spectacular and safer jump. The cable was digitally
erased using image manipulation software.
I can Imagine (heh) alot of stuntwork being totally created using
Imagemaster. Doing digital stunts can definitely reduce possible injury.
Sounds Like a GREAT idea for an Animation. Know any good Motorcycle models
around in the PD realm? I have the Honda ATC 4 wheeler that I uploaded
here but that doesn't really qualify. I could put my Android Model Aboard
and Voila.
I haven't seen any motorbike models kicking around for Imagine, yet. We
could also use an "Arnie" model to straddle it. *8)

I have a Android that is similar to the Endoskeleton from Terminator.
There is a Nice looking Motorcycle model for Imagine and Lightwave
avail for $99. I saw it advertised in AW or VTU.
