I have a problem with my new A2386SX bridgeboard. I would like to contact Commodore at West Chester PA, but I can't get the number from here in Au Australia. Nobody knows anything about the bridgeboard (norr do they care!). I've installed another 4MB of memory above the original 1MB but I just can'can't the BB to recognise it. It will recognize 384K as extended, but not the 4MB over the 1MB. Odd. SO, if any has the phone number of CBM at West Chester or any other place that REALLY knows their BB, please drop me a line!! My mailbox number is : 70461,2624

Nick, Did you run BBSETUP and set the memory for Onboard to 5 meg? If not, that's why it isn't recognized.

Nick, funnily enough, I have the same problem with my 386-40 PC motherboard. It has two banks with 4 SIMMs each. If I populate Bank 0 with 4Megs I get 640K base + 384K extended memory, if I then populate Bank 1 as well with 4Megs (8Megs in all) I get 1,664K (or 1,920K once) total memory! No idea why that is so, I suspect a faulty motherboard. // Chris coming in from Germany \X/ on AutoPilot 1.051……….

Well, 1st of all you MUST remove the old 1 meg. It is a different type memory and since it is in the 1st slots, will determain the type memory used. The best thing for you to do is remove the old memory and put the new memory in its place. You can't use both types at the same time. If you need any further help, let me know. I don't know C='s number eather, but I am sure I could find out if necessary. . // JOHN LOWERY FLYING ON . \X/ The Lost Southerner!!! AUTOPILOT

John: That's not correct. I have the 386sx BB and have 5meg on it. I left the original 1meg and added 4meg for a total of 5meg. You DO NOT need to remove the original 1meg. The BB works fine. Norm From Connecticut >>>>On AUTOPILOT…..
