Is there a way in Pagestream 2.2 to:
1) Reverse a graphic object?
2) Do graduated shades of objects?
Example, I have a tree object that bends to the right. I want to put
that object on the left so it bends toward the middle of the screen.
I want to take that same image and reverse it so it bends to left and
place the reversed image on the right of the screen so it bends
toward the middle of the screen. Then, I want to layer them on both
sides, thus creating a depth effect with the images getting smaller
and lighter as the screen depth increases.
In other words, you would be looking down the center of a line of trees
with the dark trees in the foreground, bending in.
Is this possible?
Mark: there is a Flip command in Art Expression, but not in PageStream. You can
also do blends in AE, but not in PgS.
In PageStream3, there will be gradient fills.

does this service (newsletter, bonus disk, etc.) also apply for overseas
(i.e. German) users? I have registered PGS 2.2 2-3 weeks ago (hope the
mail didn't get lost on the way!) and would like to upgrade to 3.0 as soon
as possible… Q: what use is HotLinks as long as I only have PGS? Or is
there something (PGS's missing text editor, maybe <g>?) included that will
be of use even in such a setup? SoftLogik has been slashing (oh, well…)
ProPage's 'proprietary' Hot Links thing – are there any third party
developer's products out there which make use of SL's???

DTP World is normally sent to just the US, Canada, Australia, New
Zealand and the UK due to mailing cost.
We bulk mail them in the US, and 1st class mail them to Canada. I
believe we ship the other copies to our warehouses in individual
countries and they mail them from there.
DTM is our publisher in Germany, so we do not mail newsletters to that
country. They have exclusive rights to sell our products there. You
should contact them if you need to order something. They have a
German PageStream and a German manual now.
HotLinks: it's included in the 3.0 upgrade, so unless you really need
it now, just wait for it. PageLiner and BME are also included.
Yes, ProWrite from New Horizons and ImageMaster from Black Belt use HotLinks as
well.

Though if you could do this, I would think that S-L would have said so but
I think that the "Rotate" choice from the PgS object menu should let you
"flip" the image.

(Not that I know anything about PageStream… but a rotation is not the same
as a "mirror". Can you rotate a left-hand glove until it's a right-hand
glove?)
If the object is actually 3-D, no. However, if it is only a "plane"
image, definately. I do it all the time.
um… you can't 'mirror' something with rotate. ie. you cannot make a
right hand glove from a left hand glove without flipping (mirroring)
it, unless you change the menaing of rotate and mirror.

Yes, rotation about the axis passing perpendicularly through the page
by 180 degrees nets you an upside down tree. However, PgS also
offers you rotation on an axis parallel to the page and rotation of
the rotation axis (essentially).
Nope. "Rotate" will spin the object around but not actually flip or
reverse the image.

Yes, ROTATE:ROTATE will only spin the object about an axis that is
perpendicular to the page. However, the ROTATE command has three
different axis available. With these three you can essentially
rotate an object to any position including "mirror." I don't want to
get "testy" about this but I have used the feature literally
thousands of times and it does work.
All: a twist value of 180 is the same as flipping an object
horizontally.
Well, no need to get testy! 🙂 I'll check it out and see if I can
get it to work.
If it works, it works by changing the meaning of the word 'rotate' as
applied to objects on a plane.
Larry: PageStream's rotate command has three options: rotate, slant and twist.
It does more than a traditional rotate command.
It is possible to flip an object with PageStream's rotate requester.

The "ROTATE" menu choice brings up a requester. The first choice on the
requester is indeed rotate and it works just exactly as you would expect
rotate to work. However, there are two other choices that provide
rotation on different axes. Specifically the one called "twist" will
cause right-left mirroring.
