The camera (B/W) we use is an ancient Panasonic. The specs' say it can
resolve about 600 lines. We do use a Nikkon lens which improves matters.
Putting the B/W signal thru' the little enhancer does really sharpen up
both edges and pic. detail We too have done some DigiView stuff which
ended up on broadcast – via tape. All the best, HILARY.
Robert, Please get some Video mags. I see you are kinda confused here.
your 1084S monitor has little to do with the quality of your output to
video tape unless of course you have it adjusted so far out of wack that
you compensate when painting/animating and when you view on a TV/VCR it
wll look totally different.
T record anims/Still images from your 1200 or even yer 2000 you DO NOT
need a TBC, you need an Encoder ,Scan Converter or even a Genlock tho
actually the 1200 will allow you to output to Video without any other
extra's needed.
I suggest using a SVHS VCR if you can. If Buying a new VCR and $$$ is
tight and the Anims you are doing are just for your own entertainment and
to impress yer friends the JVC HR4700U is hard to beat. They go for $420
or so here in NYC at B&H Photo.
Yup it'll probably cost you MORE actually to get a 1200 and RAM nd HD than
to upgrade your 2000. Get the GVP 030 card, they are about $560 now with a
relatively quick CPU a HD Controller and 1-4 megs of ram depending on the
config you purchase.

For best output you should use a Genlock like the Supergen from Digital
Creations, tho I've had good Success with the VIP Encoder and also now use
Digital Creation's DCTV almost exclusively for output to tape.
