#Where Buy Amphenol SCSI?
3 messages in this thread
Amphenol cables are available from Newark Electronics. Newark is a large
nationwide company look in your local phone book for a local sales office. They
have a cable that is supposedly for a VAX that looks like it has a high density
50 pin connector on it like the one that is on my 1742.
I have had good results using old SCSI cables with my 1542C if I use an inline
terminator ( MAC style ) along with a regular terminator. This has allowed me
to have 3 internal devices and 1 external. Without the extra terminator my
SCSI-1 hard drive would dissapear after the initial boot message properly
identified it.
There is no Newark Electronics in MY local book, or even for nearby cities.
I am not sure they are as ubiquitous as you say they are. Do they have a
national sales number?
Jack…Newark Electronics is indeed a major supplier of electronics supplies to
repair shops and the like. Their catalog is about 1500 pages with
semiconductors, cables, sockets, and all kinds of other neat toys. I have an
NYC number for them (212-962-0869) but they may have one that's closer to you.
Hope this helps.
