Has anyone tried SFC with Sony's SVO-9600 S-VHS machine?

Tom,
Try Nucleus Electronics by phone (416) 859-5218. Ask for Terry, he'll have an
answer for you. It is my understanding that Personal SFC will work with any
serial controllable frame accurate deck with it's own internal time code card.
The Sony SVO-9600 can be configured with a TC card, and should follow standard
Sony control protocol. Before plunking down money, I would verify with Terry.

If you're looking to buy a Personal SFC, I've got one that is only a few
months old.
Willing to negotiate. Good Deal!

I don't think Sony Gaurentee's that the 9600 is Single Frame Accurate for
recording anims a frame at a time. I think Ami-link makes that claim for
their hardware coupled with the 9600

The fellow at Nucleus Electronics told me their Personal SFC
supports the 9600 and has been made aware of any problems with it.
The price of the 9600 can't be beat for a new pro-level vcr. The down
side is I will have to upgrade Amilink to CIP ($695), then upgrade to
Pro ($1195), and then have to buy a node for the thing ($795) to be
able to add it to my system. (The original need was to buy a audio
card and chase SMPTE, and i've heard mods to my 1960's screw up the
video, so the need for the new vcr). Ill have to upgrade Amilink
after my wallet quits hurting. SFCing is a welcome extra.
