#Mapping
4 messages in this thread
I am attempting to place a bitmap cel image crated in AA Pro onto a square box
with a thickness about 1/10th the distance of the sides.
The texture map image maps wonderfully to the top surface AND TO THE BOTTOM
SURFACE. I don't want it to map to the bottom surface.
Is there a way to prevent this? It looks sort of like this.

Dennis,
1. Just select the bottom faces and do a create/face/detach. This will create a
new object. You can map this seperately now and do a create/object/attach to
reattach to the original object.
2. If you don't need mapping co-ords on the bottom just apply a new material to
the bottom faces (surface/material/assign/face[selected]).

I continued to look for the answer to this problem, and found it on page 11-14
in the tutorial, "Detaching Faces".
Thanks if anyone already responded.
I think I read somewhere where I could delete a note if I liked. In this case,
I would probably do so if I knew how.
If someone does know how, and explains it to me, I will delete these two notes
if you think it appropriate.
Or if you think others could benefit from this, I will leave it posted.
BTW, how long do notes stay on the board?
Am I supposed to delete it after a certain point?
Thanks,
Dennis
Dennis,
you can leave the messages on. They will scroll off after new ones push them
off – about 5 days. The answer may benefit others.
