In your opinion,what is the best cd-rom encyclopedia for an IBM?
I'm not the sysop, but my wife and I just finished writing a review of
Microsoft's Encarta, a Windows-based encyclopedia. In our opinion, it was head
and shoulders above the rest for all audiences, including school-age to adult.
We each used it extensively, as did our kids (ages 11 and 13), and all of use
were impressed. All of us have also used the other leading contenders:
Grollier's, Comptons, etc., so this is not a shot in the dark. <g>

We are opening a new section in a couple of wweeks dealing specifically with
Titles – their avaiability, reviews, press releases, etc. Any reviews you have
done, or any future opinions you might care to offer, would be welcome uploads.

Karen, I'm not the Sysop, but it would be better for you to address your
message to ALL. The sysop can not make specific product recomendations, but
the other users here can tell of their experiences with the encyclopedias they
own. It would help a lot if we knew who would be using the encyclopedia (age
range) and the capabilites they need. Some can export text and graphics
easily, some can't. Is price an issue? Do you care about sound? Do you have
a computer that can run Windows? How much RAM does it have? Some products
have problems with specific brands of display adapters, so that would be good
to know too.
See how complicated a seemingly simple question can be?
