#Procom PXCDL

Anybody ever hear of Procom PXCDL. I don't see this model supported in their
forum. I'm assuming that when the dealer told me that the 375 seek time was
the better time I should look for that he was failing to tell me the lower the
seek time the better. I get the impression that once again this local dealer
has sold a dust-laden box off of his shelf.
BTW – no offense to Procomm – I just bet you have a new product out there.<g>

A 375 ms seek time sounds like a single-speed drive? Is that what the Procom
PXCDL is? The new dual-speed drives should clock closer to 200. Its a cost vs.
performance tradeoff (what isn't, right?)
According to a MacWorld 7/93 article, Procom sells a dual-speed using the
Toshiba XM-3401TA mechanism, with a 329 Kb/sec demonstrated data transfer rate
(couldn't find an access rate in the article). You might want to call Procom
at 800/800-8600 to find out what is their latest and greatest.

I see that the Procom Mac CD/MX claims 200ms access and 337 Kb/sec transfer.
This is right in range for dual-speed drives.
There is a Procom rep in the (GO IBMHW) forum on a regular basis too.
