General Improvements: As much as it pains me to say this, I think Commodore needs to get the A1200/A4000 systems into CompUSA and other warehouse stores. This is the computer store of the future. Current computer stores will disappear or become vertial marketers. Getting these systems into CompUSA with appropriate demonstrations will increase the overall visability of the Commodore name and its equipment. Commodore needs to do a bit more than just get them in there though–they have got to let CompUSA make a killing on them. A stiff profit margin does a lot for a company to promote the product. Further, of course, Commodore will have to comply with the wishes of CompUSA (and others) and help pay for the advertisement of the Commodore product. The game is numbers here–get more high-end Amigas out there! My final thoughts: Commodore needs to be aware of the situation that is beginning to develop in the US. With the pending release in October of the XD0 machine from Panasonic/EA, Commodore must either have an appropriate hardware response from their labs or quickly license this technology for incorporation into the Amiga. If this is not done, Commodore will lose the low-end market to this incrediable $799 machine. You all will notice that I did not hit you with the standard — Commodore must advertise more. Advertisement doesn't do anything unless their is product distribution. Once this distribution is achieved, then advertise, then eliminate mail order. Another idea that continues to crop up is one that probably should be considered seriously. That is the idea of an Amigacard for the PC.
