I have managed to update my QBT to 2.0.1 by puting it all in RAM: & then copinng it to the disk copy. NOW it won't accept my name & serial #….the "OK" button is ghosted. What to do? This is my second message about the update. I had no trouble with QB updates. Please answer. Gracia

The same thing happened to me. I don't know what to do if the OK button is ghosted.

Ask for our money back? An answer from CCS? Sympathy <G>.

When you enter your serial number in the requester, the first three digits _must_ be "201", rather than "200". Although this is explained in the "Read_This" file, many people failed to notice it. Once your serial number (with this change) is entered, the "OK" button will be enabled.

I did enter 201. In fact I tried 210xxxxx, nothing; then I tried 201 xxxxx, still nothing; THEN I sent message. I just tried it again to make sure I wasn't talking through my hat…it still doesn't work. I DID have to recopy my master to the copy, since it did not take correctly the first attempt to upgrade…could this be the problem? If so it certainly makes life difficult for honest clients, if there is a problem and one has to make a second copy and thus renders it unusable.

Gracia, I think I see the problem. You must enter the number as "201.xxxxx", not "201xxxxx". (i.e. there must be a period between the "201" and the second number).

Yup! You are so right. As I mentioned in last message, it doesn't cost more to give <exact> instructions in docs & mamuals & saves so much wear & tear on the nets & our poor brains <G>. Thanks anyway, all is well now.
