#Tablet Support
4 messages in this thread
I just bought a Calcomp Drawing Board tablet which works great with everything
except (sigh) 3DS. Any thoughts on how to get this to work? The tablet
supplies a Summa emulation, but 3DS doesn't recognize it; the Calcomp tech
support guy doesn't know why, but expressed a hope that future versions of 3DS
provide better support for tablets.
Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.
Ian.
I know that a few of the folks here on the forum use 3DS with the Calcomp.
Hopefully one of them will read this.
If the Calcomp comes with a DGPADI.EXP tablet driver, you can use that with
3DSr2.

It comes with DGCALCMP.EXP which does not work properly with 3DS2. I have been
unable to map an area greater than 4×5 inches on the tablet and when the cursor
reaches the edge of the screen the correspondence between the tablet
coordinates and the screen coordinates is lost. It works like a poor mouse; in
fact it works better in mouse mode. How does one adjust the mapping of a
tablet with an adi driver anyway? or should that be automatic. If others have
managed to make this thing work I'd love to hear about it.
Ian.
3DSr2 conforms exactly to the DGPADI pointing-device specification, so if the
DGCALCMP.EXP driver doesn't work with it, it's most likely due to the driver
itself. As I said in my last message, there have been a few people here on the
forum who use the Calcomp with 3DS succesfully… hopefully one of them will
see this thread and respond to you.
Regarding your question about adjusting the tablet mapping… that is all
supposed to be done during driver installation/configuration.
