I'm getting some strange artifacts- triangles really- with the RAIN IPAS routine. I've created a normal box from the top viewport, as big as the landscape I'm working on. Then, I assigned the RAIN.AXP to it. I changed it to 4000 particles (since the box was covering a large area), the wind left/right to 5 and front back to 7, chaos to 1. Everything else I left the same. I think the envelope was 1 – 15 – 55 – 45. The rain looks fine, but along the ground (bottom of the box) I have some rather large triangles zipping along just as happy as you please from right to left. They look nice, and cast nice shadows, but are completely outta place in this animation. (perhaps another surrealistic one some day! <g>) Any ideas? Thanks.

You might be seeing rain "puddles" forming at the bottom of the box. What is your Drop Diameter/Splash ratio? Finally, I'm not sure why your time envelope was 1,15,55,45. Your last number being BEFORE the Hold number is very suspicious. Change the 45 to 65 and see what happens. – G

I was adding them together. For example: 1 (to start at frame 1) – then 15 to have full rain by frame 16, – then 55 to begin the slowdown at frame 71 (16+55) – then 45 to stop at frame 116 (16+55+45). I'll check it out, but I'm sure that the problem. Thanks much for the quick answer!

Ah ha… that's probably your problem. Everything is relative from the Start (absolute) frame, not each other. Hope that does it for ya, – G
