I called Safe Harbor(SH) this Monday morning to inquire about the 386
BB shipment:
Good News: SH's salesman said that SH had received a batch of 386
bridgeboards. The first shipments should be going out! 🙂
Bad News: My order was too far down on the list to be in the first
shipment. Another 2 weeks perhaps for the next batch. 🙁
Guess I'll call them again July 5 or thereabouts. :-/

I received my $200 BB from Safe Harbor yesterday evening. I
originally placed the order at the end of March. Patience does pay.
It helps when you have been out of the country for the past 2 months!

It was shipped on the 22nd according to the invoice.

Mine arrived at the same time as yours, almost 3 months after the original
order! (Better late than never, anyway.)
Now I have to figure out the IBM peripheral maze. I'm planning to buy a
213M HD (to share part with the Ami) and IDE controller but can't figure
out which display card is acceptable. I'm only looking to run windows,
don't need 16.7 million colors, but don't know if VGA, SVGA, !M Windows
Accelerators, etc. are best (I want to spend as little as necessary).
Would you have any suggestions?

I would suggest that you contact 70322,447 Dave_Cinege of Elite
Microcomputers at (908) 541-4214 to purchase his multi-IO board. An Amiga
has, at most, 4 slots for bridgeboard stuff, and the BB takes one of those
slots leaving only 3 slots. The multi-IO card gives you a bunch of
functions in one slot. That leaves room for 2 other cards such as a
hardcard, sound card, memory card, CD-ROM controller, etc. (Any card that
goes into an XT slot.)
Assuming that you have a monitor for the Amiga, you can purchase a VGA
or SVGA monitor for only a few hundred dollars.
Of course, if you get a multi-sync capable of 15.75 MHZ scan and
multiples thereof for several hundred dollars then it is possible to
switch the multi-sync between the bridgeboard and the Amiga as needed.

Yippie! I got mine today. Safe Harbour had sent it to the wrong address
(They had the correct address as a billing address, but not shipping
address. Go figure.). I works great!
Dave: How much is your Multi I/O board? How compatable is the IDE
controller with most drives, and is Super VGA (1024 x 768)? Any problems
with the 2386 Bridgeboard? Also, I remember at one time you were thinking
of trying to build a monitor switcher for the 2386 BB. Did you ever get
that DIN connector figured out on the 2386?

If it's standard IDE it will run.

No, it is a simple thing to do once I get info on it, but CATS hasn't been
much help. Right now I'm try to find out who makes those male power
connetors on an A1200…that question is been at CATS for 2 weeks now, and
I am still no where near getting an answer, so don't count on an auto
switch. We still carry manual switches though….
