Thanks, I was wondering what that option did. But in the V1.3 manual, printer drivers section, it says that only the aspect and shade can be changed via preferences when using a 4693D, is this not true? What else will change the prints, I got the impression from reading that that the driver doesn't lookat o preferences options, and that all changes are done via the control panel on hte 4693D. I'll try that as well as someone elses suggestion to save the pictures as 2400 X 1600 pixels, instead of 640 X 400.

Most of my knowledge about printer output came from Dick Barnes – editor/publisher of the late, and greatly lamented, AMIGA APPRENTICE AND JOURNEYMAN newsletter. Dick spent many, many hours trying out everything possible that might affect printed output, and many of his issues had several pages describing his tests and the results. He found that everything on that panel affected HIS output – using an EpsonQ printer. When I was doing some tests for him with the NEC P5200, each of the things there affected my output, also. If you can get your hands on some of those old A&J issues, you can learn a great deal about getting the most from your printer.

Steve, I'm sure that not syncing to PAL is the problem. When I turn up the brightness it appears that there is not even a synced raster. Thanks for your troubleshooting help anyway.
