I have a CDROM disc "Hall of FAME" which has worked fine up until I purchased a
new 486 dx 33mgh computer with DOS 6.0.
Now when I start the Romdoor program the menu comes up in what appears to be
computer code which is unreadable. All my other programs seem to work normal.
Does anyone have any idea of what the cause and correction might be?
Hello Bill
The problem you are having could be caused by not loading the proper version of
MSCDEX.EXE. Check your autoexec.bat file and make sure that the path for the
file MSCDEX points to the DOS directory. This should enable the new version
(2.2) of MSCDEX that should have shipped with DOS 6 to load properly. Also,
check the config.sys file. If you are loading the SETVER.EXE utility, you may
now be able to remove it.
