Bill- I installed a Derringer in my A-500 last month. I got the basic model, without the math co-processor or 32-bit memory… and I see about a 4X speed increase from my stock 68000 CPU. They say it will be able to have up to 32 megs of RAM installed on it (when memory technology gets that far), but I wish it had the option of increasing the clock speed – like it's predecessor, the MMR. (But – it's something I can live with.) In my Rev.5 A500 motherboard, it overlaps the Angus chip, which caused me some grief. I had already installed a MegaChip expander, and the Derringer collided with it. However, with the installation of another IC socket to raise it up 1/2 inch or so, and a piece of paper to keep the circuit traces from coming into contact with the keyboard back (which is metal), it works quite well. (I've even gotten used to the case slanting upwards toward the processor side of the machine. ^_^) All in all, a quite impressive piece of work, I think.
