#Mitsumi Noller Driver GA
3 messages in this thread
I have a few questions unfortunately if any of them are no, I am sort of SOL
since I already have this driver on order.
1) Will this driver cooexist with a scsi hard drive, I have an adaptec 1542B
and have the mitsumi CDROM will OS/2 have a problem with the adaptec card
working at the same time as the Noller driver,
I mean does the noller driver make the CDROM drive look like a SCSI,
if so then I doubt OS/2 will accept two seperate scsi adaptors.
2) Will this driver work with a B serial number drive?
Also,
1) Has anyone in the US received this driver yet? How long did it
take, I have it on order.
2) Does anyone know when MMPM2 will be supported?
Thank you,
Bryan Cadugan
Bryan,
I don't have OS/2 installed yet, awaiting GA after removing the beta, so can't
check the final version, but to answer some of your questions:
1. As far as I can see the driver doesn't make the CD look like a SCSI
device, it provides the same system services as the IBM-written SCSI
drivers, which higher levels of OS/2 use.
This being the case I see no reason for you to have problems with the
Adaptec.
2. As far as I know and have read it should work with all versions.
3. I'm not in the US but I got my copy delivered to my CIS mailbox.
4. MMPM/2 support is talked about for V2, though I've seen no mention of
when this could be.
I would suggest emailing Torsten Droeste to chase him if you're concerned about
when you'll get your copy.

Can anwser two of your questions, yes, the Noller drivers work fine
with
scsi devices in place, no conflict. and NO I also haven't heard anything about
the drivers, I ordered mine a week ago figuring they'd be emailed but got
nothing, I did email an inquiry and recieved a reply tha my order had been
proccessed that day (thursday?) so I'm assuming all orders are now being filled
via mail only..
