We are interested in producing a CD-ROM. This will be focused mainly on music
and we need the ability to import and work with the sound. I realize that "work
with sound" is a wide open statement, but am in total ignorance of what can be
done with various levels of equipment.
I would like any references, suggestions, comments that may help us.

What kind of sound? If you mean "Red Book" (digital audio, such as straight
from a DAT) that's one thing. Sound files like .WAV or MIDI are treated
differently. Different tools, different kinds of discs.
