I'm looking for info on faster CD ROM's for IBM compatible PC's and on Caching
software for the CD ROM's. Can you point me to the right area so I can start
investigating this topic?
You are welcome to visit the NORTON forum for information on CDROM caching.
Norton offers The Norton Speedcache+ which provides high-performance hard disk,
CDROM and Bernoulli/Syquest caching.
A good CDROM cache will noticably improve the performance of any CDROM drive.
I'll let you be the judge. Come on by, we'll help anyway we can.
FYI.

Mike:
There is a variety of caching programs, most of whom have advocates that
frequenter this forum. Speedway, Lightening and so forth, in addition to
Speedcache. As for relative performance, there has been a good bit of
conversation back and forth, but I have not yet seen any reviews.
