#3.1 for A2000

Ah, true. But my aunt is very fluent in German!

I spoke to the folks at Expert Computers yesterday, they said all the
agreements to distribute 3.1 had been signed and shipping would occur in
the next week or so. $100 for the A2000 , $150 for the A3000 versions.
I seem to have come into the middle of this discussion, so please pardon the
intrusion – but is what I read here true? Will there be a version 3.1 AmigaDOS
for the A2000? If so, please relate as much information as possible, and where
I might purchase this. Thanks!

Its true, Expert services is working with VillageTronic (sp?) of Germany,
the manufacturers of the Picasso II card to make 3.1 available to Picasso
owners. They have been accepting back orders for quite a while. The
upgrade consists of a new ROM that allows 3.1 features on machines with
the ECS chipset and a new manual set/software. As I related in the earlier
message I was told yesterday that they will start shipping in a week or so
to people on the back order list.
Expert Services has always impressed me on being on the ball, this just
proves it.
Richard -> AutoPilot on the A1000, the only Amiga without the C= logo.
Gary,
I had heard this same thing BUT the liscensing arangement from C= only
allows it (3.1 ROMS) to be provided for registered owner of Picasso II and
the docs are in German.

Correct about the upgrade only to Picasso owners but Expert said the
manuals were in English.
Sounds VERY exciting! Where can I get more details about this upgrade –
Expert Services themselves? And does it do true AGA support/emulation with the
Picasso? I'd appreciate any more details you can provide. Thanks!
–Steve–
AGA is supported for applications that go through the operating system,
(use the display database). Apps that mess with the hardware directly
(most games) will not work. Still, it's better than nothing. I'M on the
list for it. <G>

How about the 1200/4000 versions?

The A4000 version will be available for $150 at the same time as the
others are released.
