If you don't mind me asking, why do you want the A3000T over the A4000?
Also, could you elaborate on what your A4000 system consists of?
I have a fairly well stocked A3000T '040, however, I gave up trying to
sell it when bids came it at far below what I felt the system was worth.
Maybe we could work out something or at least maybe you could make me want
to keep it even more. <g>
My system consists of:

12 MB FAST RAM
2 MB CHIP
OpalVision Main Board
Firecracker24 Board
EMPLANT Deluxe w/ROMs and version 4.4 software
Quantum LP120S 120 MB SCSI-2 Harddrive
Seagate ST3283N 240 MB SCSI-2 Harddrive

The A3000Ts got to be worth a lot less when they were closed out at $1100
new.
I have more need for drive bays than for AGA (I use a Moniterm monochrome
1000×800 display and don't do graphics or video work), so I'd rather take
a little cash and "trade down" to a 3000T.
My 4000 system had a motherboard and CPU swap in January (so latest Buster
and 3.1 CPU card), it has 8MB Fast, 2MB Chip, 120meg IDE drive.
I don't really want to buy a monitor, small HDs, OpalVision, Firecracker
or Emplant. If I got some or all of those things cheaply enough as part
of a bundle, I might not complain too loudly.

If you dont mind me butting into your conversation with Alan…
Yes, A3000T's were 'blown out' for a low price… but you have to ask
yourself, do they still have any you can buy for that price? The answer
is no. So… it's now a sellers market for those.
The reason I say this is I have just recently sold one of my 3000T's, and
nearly everyone that responded to me used that blowout line. Since I was
in no hurry to sell, and I knew it was well worth alot more than $1100
(IE: try stuffing a toaster, egs-spectrum, 2 tbcs, a bridgeboard, a
P.A.R., an emplant, AND 2 gig hd's into an A4000) and by being patient I
found someone who was serious about making a reasonable offer on a demand
item.
I now even have 2 people who are begging me to sell one of my other
3000T/040's… I'm just waiting for the correct amount of $$$ to pass in
front of my nose.

I had a deal worked out an a 3000T that fell through.
I called Computer Answers today. They expect to see more 4000Ts next
week, at about $2100 delivered to your door brand new. Maybe that puts a
dent in the price of A3000Ts. 🙂
Used hardware doesn't have a fixed price. Sometimes the seller needs the
money or wants rid of the hastle. Sometimes the buyer has more money than
time or brains or something else.
I buy used hardware the way you sell it — I wait for the better deals.
If you get emotional release by criticizing that, fine with me 🙂

I see you are looking for a 3000-4000 swap. I have a 2000 with a GVP
series II SCSI hard drive controller and a GVP 33 MHz '030 card with IDE
controller. Would you be interested in that and $ for your 4000? If so how
much $.

I haven't been completely sold on AGA machines, yet. I tend to agree
with you about drive bays, etc. I'm still leaning towards hanging on to
the A3000T and saving my money for the EMPLANT 486DX upgrade and a descent
AGA graphics board.
