ipas programers

hi there:
having seen what can be done with ipas3, like flame/vapor…, i have come up
with an idea for an AXP. program that i would find very useful and i think can
have a very dranmatic effect. not being an ipas programer i dont know what the
limits are but i will outline what i would like to see:
WAVE/white water axp.
this would be an axp that would simulate breaking ocean waves or river white
water.
the axp would probably be applied to a rectangular box which would simulate the
surface of the water where waves would be breaking.
some of the controls would be as follows
1-wave amplitude,length as a %of box size, and period.
2-wave breaking shape. from a flat mush to a full tube(north shore pipeline).0
for flat breaking waves to 100 for full curls.
3-turbulance. how clean the breaking is.
4-wind direction for control of the spray from the breaking waves.
5- start end frames. start is the first frame when the swells get generated.
end is the frame when all activity stops.
6- controlls for swell direction and source number and swell relitive angle.
for example we can set the ipas to generate very orderly parallel swells or we
can have swells the are at a relitive angle to one another and have slightly
different periods.
7- overall chaos factor for creating variance.
to control the number of breaking waves and their interaction, what i think
could work is for the ipas to use a base shape . basically the user through
displase or fractlize would create a ocean/river bed surface. this object will
then be positioned in the box at the needed angle and linked to it. the surface
shape will act as the depth gage for trigering breaking waves. the axp will
generate swells from one extream end of the box, as swells pass over the base
shape, depending on the particular positions depth, the swells will grow bigger
and smaller untill the criticl depth is reached when they start breaking
according to the break charactristics settings.
i am sure that there are other controlls needed, but this is what i can think of
now.
let me know what you think. if any one is interested in developing this ipas i
will for sure be their 1st customer<G>.
i think this will be very cool tool that i havent really seen on any platform!
hope to hear from you soon

I like it.
Me too. Anyone out there can do this? Most of my customer base is
ocean-based, and to be able to simulate surf *and* open-sea conditions
(windlines, whitecaps, mixed-swell, etc.) would be invaluble!!!!

joseph:
how do you like my concept of a base shape for controling the surf for this
ipas? who do you think can program something like this. maybee we can directly
send a request in!
