It seems I remember someone mentioning a software-only product they have that
would allow me to render to *.TGA (would prefer *.JPG, but…), and then put
them all into a single file that would play back in real-time (reel-time?) to
output to my VCR. Any such animal out there? (I just need 24-bit quality at
30 frames per second – I know I'm asking for a lot! <g>…)

Well, you need hardware in there somehow, otherwise you can't get from your
computer to the video deck.
What you are describing is a hardware/software solution, like the DPS PAR…
The Matox MAX… etc….
I'm sure people will pitch in and give you all the details you need.

Hope so! <g>… You're the only one, so far! Anyway – I know about the DPS
PAR board – I've even seen one! Haven't heard of the Matrox MAX until I went
to "Hot-lanta" for Comdex a week or so ago, though. It doesn't look like a
serious contender, IMHO. I had in the back of my mind that DPS had some sort
of software solution.
