In an article which appeared in the latest issue of Toronto Computes
Mr.Ray Prachun(who is marketing director for CBM Canada stated t [B [Bthat it
was business as usual and that CBM Australia has a new line of credit
and has taken over CBM New Zealand.Here in Toronto 3 [B3D Micro which
manufactures DOS machines for CBM Canada say it is business as usual.
Mr.Prachun stated that the Amiga will go on b [Bbut it is a question of
under which banner it will be distributed. [BThat is the latest from
here.Just as a footnote CBM started here in Toronto in 1959 as a typewriter
repair shop.The sky is not fa [Bfalling !!!!!!!!!!!!! yet
Ray Prachun left Commodore shortly after making the various remarks that have
been widely reported on the networks.
The two events are not related: it was an amiable departure. As I
understand it, what Ray said was correct and fully supported by Commodore
Canada.
Ray's comments, however, were part of a verbal presentation; no written
release was made by Commodore Canada. I wasn't there, but I suspect that, in
the main, it's being reported accurately.
But Ray isn't at Commodore any more to confirm the data. Gosh, now he's gone
he might be able to say more…

I didn't know Ray was gone. That's too bad–he was one of the good people at
Commodore sales/marketing that seemed to care. He would call us up and ask us
what he could do to help us. Not something anybody at CBM (US) ever did.

CBM Australia went into liquidation a couple of month before CI. At the same
time CBM Asia replaced it. However, when the cards fell on the rest of the
"empire" CBM Asia went too
They had no stock. As far as I am aware there never was a CBM NZ.
