Hi Ara, The metaball modeler is still under development. The main reason it's been delayed is because of the amount of time I'm spending on another IPAS project. Sorry to keep you waiting. I'll let you know as soon as it's available. Take care, Danny…

Hey Ara, Sorry, I can't discuss the IPAS stuff I'm currently working on. I can tell you that if you're excited about a metaball modeler, you're going to absolutely LOVE this stuff! <g> Nothing remotely like it exists for 3D Studio. BTW, are you going to SIGGRAPH? If so, maybe we can get together. Talk to you later, Danny…

Danny, So how's the IK IPAS you're working on? It must be close to delay the metaball one.. (now how's that for starting rumors?? <BG> ) I'm interested in your metaball ipas as well.. I still have that little metal ball blob flic around.. it's neat. What else are you working on? JNJ [The IK thing was a joke (just in case you didn't catch it)]

Sorry John, I can't discuss what I'm currently working on due to NDA considerations. You're right about the project being close and delaying the release of the metaball modeler, however I'm NOT developing an IK IPAS for 3D Studio. I'm working on something totally different. I think (actually, I'm sure) you'll like it! <g> Regards, Danny…

Danny, If it's better than a metaball modeler, I'm sure I'd love it. I'm anxious to hear what it is. (I really need some quick cash for all these cool new IPAS'..) JNJ

Hi Danny, I'm sure you were quizzed about this a while back but please – indulge me. Will your metaball modeller make use of the ipas3 type interface now available (real time shaded feedback whilst in the routine etc..)? Here's a seriously loaded question….how would YOU say it compares to the Softimage metaball module? Thanks, Andy Roberts BITS

Hey Andy, How are you? Once I get back to it, I plan on providing some real-time previewing capabilities to the metaball modeler. Last I worked on it, I was concentrating on providing hierarchical linking support within the modeler to make character modeling much easier. As far as how it compares to the SoftImage product… I don't know! <g> Actually, I've never seen the SoftImage stuff. I've only heard that it exists. One thing's for sure though, my metaball modeler will be a LOT cheaper!!! Talk to you later, Danny…
