Hey, I was browsing around and I saw that you were interested in other libraries. I work for a company called Viewpoint DataLabs here in the states. We produce 3D Datasets, known as wireframes, that are ready for you to add colors and textures. Our catalog has everything from anatomy, characters, airplanes, trucks, trains, and the list goes on. In addition, we also have a CD that we had out free that has all of the Datasets on it, however, it is locked. If you would like to get this information, just leave me your address or call us at 801-224-2222.

Thanks for your answer. A friend of mine was at CeBit and brought one of your paper catalogs ( Volume II ). If you have a better distribution method ( the CD ) I would be interested in receiving info on how to get it. Unfortunately I'm in Portugal and 800's aren't available, so here goes my address: LUIS GONCALVES R. CIDADE BENGUELA, 336 1E 1800 LISBON PORTUGAL

Mark, Thanks for asking about the catalog. All that I need from you is you address and a phone number. I'll be happy to send you a catalog, price list, newsletter, and a free CD Rom that has some free Datasets. Casey Johnson Viewpoint DataLabs

Casey, Did you say "Free CD ROM with some Free Datasets"? Is this the DataShop v1.0 CD ROM or something else? I have this CD ROM and Vol II Catalog, (highly recommended resources!) but I did not know it had any free datasets. BTW, I would be interested in your newsletter too! James, The free cd is the DataShop v1.0. And "yes" there are 5 free Datasets on the cd under the Misc. section (Note that they are marked). I will see about getting you the newsletter. Are you going to be attending SIGGRAPH? Casey Johnson Viewpoint DataLabs

>> I will see about getting you the newsletter. Are you going to be attending SIGGRAPH? << Thanks for the newsletter. I hope to attend Siggraph if I ever get my hands on the advance Program! You know what? We have already met! I have your business card from Siggraph '93. You probably do not remember me because I stopped by only for a few seconds on my way to the "Physically based modelling" class. I will stop by again this year if I get there! — James — MAP —

James, << Thanks for the newsletter. I hope to attend Siggraph if I ever get my hands on the advance Program! >> Can you FTP to siggraph.org? I got mine yesterday by FTP'ing over, cd'ing /conferences/siggraph94/advanceprogram and copied a bunch of *.txt files. It ended up printing ~200 pages. jonas[adesk]

Well, I just posted a message last night about "Need Siggraph Schedule" explaining my despair. I have no way to FTP as I have no subscription to an internet service. (I _almost_ never need it.) Yesterday, I left a message on the Siggraph voice line requesting the printed version, and I also sent e-mail to siggraph94@siggraph.org asking if they could e-mail the advance program to me. I recieved a response saying that they could not e-mail the files, but that the printed version is mailed first class so it _should_ arrive in time. I am skeptical about its timely arrival given processing time and US Snail. Needless to say, I am falling into a state of insomnia paranoia. My addiction to Siggraph is getting the best of me! :-). — James — MAP —

>>I am skeptical about its timely arrival given processing time and US Snail. << I just wanted to let everybody know that Siggraph processing time was near zero — I received the advance program Saturday in the snail. Kudos to the Siggraph folks for being on the ball! My state of insomnia paranoia as changed to euphoria nervosa. I cannot wait to be poolside!! — James — MAP —
