#Moving Morphs

Ok, I give up. I'm trying to create a moving morph for the first time. I have
successfully created a still morph, but I have decided the effect would look
better if it was a moving morph. I get stuck right at the beginning, where I
try to create a new project of the moving morph type. The book sez "If you are
working on a moving morph (and have sequenc files already generated for the
source and destination sequences) select the moving Morph.. subitem. Well, I
don't have source and dest sequences (whatever those are), so what do I put
there? Is there a tutorial available somewhere that goes thru the process of
creating a moving morph?

I guess you are using MorphPlus. A moving morph is one where the 2 objects
you are going to morph are moving (ie:a person walking). You would draw
the characters or objects in a paint program and animate them (ie: move
from one point to another or digitize a person walking). You would then
seperate the images into seperate picture files, these would be the
sequential files. This way you could animate the morph of a man walking
and changing into … well mabie a tiger that is running. That is a moving
morph. Read your manual.

I have read my manuals, thanks. The New Project Requestor.. for a Moving Morph
does not accept picture files as for source & destination sequences.
Nonetheless, you have given me a clue. Perhaps I need to create the sequences
in FRED first, and then use those sequence names in the New Project Requestor?
My manual doesn't give any information about these fields. It doesn't help that
I have a manual, plus an update in a seperate section, plus a README file.

Good luck. I remember the first time I used MorphPlus on a still Morph, I
kept getting errors about the names I had set in the file requester. It is
a bit confusing. It would be easier if you just specified a file name and
directory and the program just added the necessary sub-directorys and
appended the files name with .seq etc.
I have not used FRED, or tried a moving morph yet.

Is that sarcasm? I find Adpro's/Morph's manuals poor. The manual I have has 2
updates to it, one on printed pages that I have to file at the back, and one
readme type file. You have to refer to all 3, at the same time, to make sure
you are doing everything correctly. Try performing the Tutorial on a Still
Morph without checking the readme file for all the corrections. It can't be
done. There isn't a tutorial on moving morphs at all. When tying to create a
moving morph, you have to use FRED to create the .seq files for the Source and
Destination images. This is not stated anywhere I can see, or if there is
another way to do it, I can't find that stated either.
Yes, I am having trouble with the manual.
