#Is the PAR good enough??

Read it in a couple places..My favorite magazines are Wired, New Media and
T V Technology. At they try to stay at the cutting edge. Even Computer
Graphics world isn't bad. Got VTU and the incredible shrinking Amigaworld
today. Pretty sad. Where's Jim Plant when you need him. At least John
Gross keeps near the edge. FYI, the animbrushes were sized at 128%. Heard
of another game machine going 500 mips. Cray supposed to have approached
them for right to use their chips in parallel processors. The race is
on…and I think the games are afoot.

So who is SGI working with now? I thought they were really hot on the
games market.

A lot of developers of games have a 300 to 1.5K Budget. At that rate
Wavefront and a Reality Engine make sense. Alias and Wavefront all have
game Task forces. Like the film industry, prehaps they decided to pursue
the making and development and leave the delivery technology to someone
else. Really we are talking two markets.High end and Low end. Panavision
versus S-VHS. Videogame sales surpassed domestic movie sales. The Seventh
Guest Sequel is probably rendering right now.
Oh – I'd just read an interview with the chief of SGI who sounded REALLY
hot to get into the delivery market, which is where the volume is, after
all.

Show season is upon us in L.A. 3 big shows…Infocomm, Digital World and
ShowBiz Expo roll into town next week. Newtek is listed at Showbiz. If I
can pin anyone down I'll pass on the info.
