CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT KIND OF TRANSFER RATE ONE CAN OBTAIN FROM AN A1200 IDE
CONTROLLER AND A FAST EXTERNAL IDE DRIVE. 2.5" INT. SEAGATE AT 200K JUST

Try using both lower case and UPPER case when typing, it sounds as though
you are SHOUTING at us with capitals 😉
I seem to remember some incompatibilities with Seagate drives and the
Ami's IDE controller which made transfers of around 200k/s quite normal.
As far as I know there is no fix, it's just the drive ;-(
If anyone else knows different, then let Alan know 🙂
BTW, my Western Digital internal IDE drive acheives around 400k/s which is
average performance.
