Amiga to Mac
3 messages in this thread
I have an A3000 at home, and a Macintosh Quadra 840av at work. What I
want to do is download my JPEG's from home to work. Does any one have any
suggestions to make this possible? The guy at the computer store here in
Denver recomended I write a script for Term, but I know nothing about
writing scripts. Does any have a script that will do this. I'm open to
any suggestions.

Steve,
It's quite simple for you to do it manually (so long as you have somebody
at each end <g>).
On both machines, launch the comms software. Activate auto answer on one
(say your Amiga), then with the Mac, dial your home number, when the Amiga
answers and the modems have negotiated their speeds etc, get the person on
the Amiga to Upload the first JPEG file whilst the Mac user chooses
DOWNLOAD, making sure you both use the same protocol; ZMODEM or CIS B+
etc.
Okay, you'll have to repeat the uploading and downloading manually until
all the files have been transfered, but if you know nothing about writing
scripts, then this is obviously quicker 🙂

well, if you just leave your computer at home on with a term program running
set z-modem to auto download, go to work and call home (modem at home with auto
answer on) then download the files. Unless you use Silent Answer or a switch
box of some sort anyone else calling your house will get an earfull so…
