Amiga ftp quirks?

I'm seeing some quirks with the AS225 (beta 2) 'ftp'. I'm trying to use a Mac
tool called "Fetch", a GUI-based 'ftp'. It can't 'cd' into any Amiga
directories or fetch any Amiga files, because its list of files are prepended
with a '/'. Fetch's author says that Fetch doesn't prepend anything. A little
digging showed this, as I talked to Amiga 'ftp':

Why does the Amiga ftp tell the host that RAM:/Clipboards is a valid path?
When Fetch sends 'cwd RAM:/Clipboards', it fails.
Also, when I invoke 'inet:c/ls ram: >ram:foo', it spits out a one-column list
of files, but I've swapped it with some other 'ls' than the one shipped with
AS225. The original 'ls' spits out a list of files on a single line, with
trailing slashes on the directories. My 'ls' doesn't add slashes.
For some reason, that AS225's FTP is pretty hosed. I never touched it.
I've used it enough to want to fix it, but not enough to actually go in
and do it. Now, of course, it is too late.

Maybe I should switch to the AmiTCP. Is is stable these days?
This reminds me of a daydream I had the other day. I imagined that someday
soon, the source code to the entire AmigaDOS / Intuition fabric would appear on
the Internet, as the anarchic resurrection of a backup tape that walked out the
door of Commodore. Do you think there's a chance of that? I have no idea what
CBM's security was like.
They're working on 3.0, you can get beta of it which seem good. In my
case, I mostly use rlogin and NFS, and NFS is much nicer in AS225.
Everything else is probably at least as good or better in AmiTCP, though I
haven't spent enough time with it to be 100% sure of that.

I've had similar problems with ftp in AS225 beta. cd doesn't seem to
work right in some situations. I haven't nailed it down exactly but
something is a bit wacky in there. I've managed to look thoroughly
imcompetent at least once while showing someone how 'great' it works. It
seems like the file list gets hosed when certain circumstances arise.
