I have 24 hours to respond to a classified ad (I'm going on vacation Friday) and would like your opinion. I have a 25 MHz A3000, and have been quietly waiting for the right '040 accelerator to come along. Someone wants $800 US for a PP&S Mercury 35 MHz '040 with zero RAM. Is this model one of the "good" ones, i.e. does it have a flaky reputation? Since I believe PP&S is no longer, I need an accelerator which won't require any support. Blaq!

Hi Charles, personally I would buy a Warp or GVP now. I used to want a Mercury for my 3000/16 and would have jumped at that price. It sounds like a pretty good price. But, nowadays I would go for a Warp or GVP just because they are new and the companies are still around. What if you buy it and then it dies next month. $800 out the screen…With a Warp you can at least try to get some support.
