#Amiga 5000 ?

Direct quote from "TV TECHNOLOGY" June, 1994
"… there are already rumors circulating about the release in Germany of the
Amiga 5000, said to be a RISC-based multi-platform system that is outfitted for
SCSI-2 and ready for 68060 chips. If the existence of the 5000 is a fact, some
beleive it could send new waves of change throughout the video graphics world,
just as the NewTek/Amiga collaboration did a few years ago."
Hilary.
Hilary,
I note the word RUMOR in your note. Does the article say anything else,
like who is going to make it? I expect the article is several months old
given the time it seems to take for these magazines to really publish
anything these days. Still there is always hope.

Regards Leonard
No Leonard, the article says nothing more about the Amiga 5000 – other than I
sent in my original message. It does cover however, the demise of Commodore –
which is old news.
"TV Technology" is relatively up-to-date in its articles. It serves the
technical side of Broadcast TV, and has a restricted distribution within the
industry.
Quite a lot of "Amiga Type" hardware is coming out of Europe, especially
Germany…. so your guess of any truth in the rumor is as good as mine! Do
hope however that it may be true….
All the best, Hilary.
Since I've previously seen all the rumors reported in Mortier's article right
here, it wouldn't suprise me if this board or another was his source. Isn't it
interesting way the same rumors recirculate taking on a bit more false
significance each time around.
Who the hell would have designed this A5000? Who would have produced it?
This is the same rumor that's been around for a couple of years. And I
still have the same response. Unless C= had some secret engineering group
outside and larger than WC, this is pure and total crap. And even if they
had someone to design it, they can't produce A1200s, how are they going to
produce these things?

Hey Dale I think we are back to the single bullet theory again.
This whole thing is a GOVT plot.
In fact Elvis and JFK are both alive and well. They were employed buy C=
under a secret agreement whose goal was to develop the woulds most useful
computer and it also does music.
They are working with Buddy Holley and ALF the alien and will release the
AMIGA 5000 next week. Samsung will get the Bacon and Eggs version in a
deal with NEWTEK and Philips and Sony get the Juice Machine.

Hilary:
"TV Technology"? Are you a fellow broadcaster?

Well I'll believe the existance of the Amiga 5000 when I'm staring one
right in the face <g>. Otherwise, it sounds like that April Fools 5000
that was making the rounds on the Internet.

Amen to that! Still it is nice having just some hope…
All the best, Hilary
