#AVI to FLIC Conversion
9 messages in this thread
Please help me. I am trying to create a video spotlight using an AVI file I
have captured from tape. I need to import it into 3D Studio. I have the
capability to convert a FLIC file to AVI but not vice versa. I would really
appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
I'm sure that one of the knowledgable folks here on the forum would be able to
help you figure out how to convert an AVI to a flic. (I'm just not one of
them.)

Thanks. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
I believe a product called WinImages F/X will do it for you, and is very
inexpensive.

Denise,
>> .avi to .fli/.flc <<
just a few guesses – Video for Windows, Adobe Premiere. If not to .fli file ask
if these packages can go to .tga, .bmp, or .tif.
Hi Denise,
We have two programs that convert AVI to FLC or FLI files. They are the A/V
Recorder and RAZOR. The A/V Recorder is a digital video capture and conversoin
program and RAZOR is a digital compositor which allows you to combine
animations, digital video and audio and apply image processing effects such as
Aldus Gallery Effects Kai's Power tools etc. RAZOR can import and export AVI,
FLC, FLI, series of TGAs, BMPs, WAVs. It has the ability to combine images
using a number of different methods including alpha channel, still and
travelling mattes, chroma keying, luminance keying, blue screen, green screen,
color difference keying and transparency values. RAZOR is the only digital
compositor on the market which features the ability to composite an infinite
number of images and audio tracks.
RAZOR's SRP is $199.00 and is available from some of the Autodesk dealers who
frequent this forum.

Denise,
You can convert the AVI file to a series of TGA files. Then turn the series of
TGA files into an FLC file.
To go from AVI to TGA, you can use video for windows, or utilities found in
GRAPHSUPP or MSAPPS forums. I am not sure of the names, but I always find them
whenever I look for them. Just search the libraries on keywords like AVI TGA
and CONVERT.
Here in ASOFT download DTA.ZIP. This will take your TGA files and combine them
into an FLC file. Or use NUMPIC inside AAPRO.

Denise,
If I may ask, I would like to know what software that you are using to convert
.FLI files to .AVI format. I have been searching for a while for a conversion
utility. Preferably inexpensive shareware. I would appreciate any info.
Thanks!
