Last Vibrant drivers
9 messages in this thread
Hi !
I just try tonite the new drivers for 3DS3 from Vibrant (3ds103.zip). Something
goes wrong when I try to render : I got a black screen and nothing happen.
Strangely the M and N font character look like they were italic !!? I
reactivate the 15 april driver and everything is OK now. I got a DX2-66, STL24
board. Anybody got the same trouble with the new driver ?
Have a good day.

Well, I appologise for the changes in the fonts. We recently had someone go
through all of our fonts to make them match the standard Code page 437 (US
default)–we needed this for internationalization. It seems that some of the
characters are looking a bit wierd. I'll see if someone can't clean some of
these back up.
Hmm.. Are you using the Diamond Stealth 24? What video mode are you using for
rendering?

I made another try tonite for the last vibrant drivers for 3DS3 and I still
can't render any meshes. I use the Diamond Stealth 24 Drivers and I try 320×200
and 640×480 size. I still have the strange M&N ( But you explain it in your
message). When I ask for a render I got a black screen or or plain color screen
if the background is not black… The rendering time at the back of the screen
is say to be 1 second when I press Escape. Probably something incompatible with
the capricious Stealth board. I don't know. Hopefully everything work fine
under the april drivers… But I don't want to loose the track for the next
update.
Hmm.. I don't know of any problems we are having. If you having problems with
the 640x480x16 and 320x200x256 modes, then you might have some hardware
problems on the board. Does it run fine in other products like Windows, games,
etc?

PS: Please e-mail me your 3DS.SET file, config.sys, and autoexec.bat (ZIP it is
best)… Thanks.
Hi ! Did you have the time to look at my config & al. file? I'm the
one who can't use the last version of the Vibrant driver with the
Stealth 24 board.
I forgot in my preceding message. Thank you for your answer. Have a good day !

Whew! I'm glad it's not something wrong with my system. The "n"'s in
particular are wacked out on my system (Gateway p5-60 w/ ATI AXO card).

I recently used a font called Medieval that I'd love to see in the
Vibrant drivers… ever heard / seen it? I can get you some shareware that
utilizes it if need be.

Well, I don't know if it is freely available or not, but if so, and it is in
some fairly simple-to-parse format, I could take a look at either adding it or
make an external font file for it…
