#Magazine Article: IPAS
8 messages in this thread
Hi,
I'm doing an article for a major multimedia magazine that surveys the 3D
modeling, rendering and animation programs. I want to do a sidebar on the IPAS
extensions for 3DS. Is there a list somewhere of the available or
soon-to-be-released IPAS extensions?
Thanks in advance.

Philip,

There is a file called ipas.txt in the IPAS Usage section of the lib. It is
current to Jan 94. For additional recent IPAS', contact Schreiber Instruments
at 1-800-FOV-IPAS. Ask for a copy of their new catalogue as well as the new
Yost catalogue. The IPAS.txt file with these new catalogues gets you current
with shipping code. Go to SIGGRAPH for the yet to be announced code.

Thanks Jonas, I'll find that file.

Hi Philip,
You may also want to talk to Dave Avgikos at Digimation. You can reach him at

Thanks David, I'll try them.

ON this system, either library 1 or 2, you'll find a file with a list
of IPAS' available as of early this year.
In particular, I'd tell you not to write anything without seeing the
most recent IPAS' from Yost Group… Disk 6 and Disk 7 appear really slick:
Character skinning, mesh deformation (from images) flames, vapor, etc…
Thanks Thomas,
Philip
