#Bad AAP 1.3a Install
8 messages in this thread
Brian,
I just got my AAP upgrade. I've tried to install it but after disk #1 has
finished loading, I continually get the "Insert disk #2" message after I've
inserted disk #2. My computer doesn't seem to recognize either the disk change
or the disk ID.
I've tried the install several times — with the same problem. Even when I
specify the "executables only" install (which skips disk #2), I still have the
problem with disk #3.
My drive seems to work fine otherwise and I've had Norton disk doctor check the
floppies. I realize that this might be a problem with my drive somehow but I
thought I'd check with you to see if you've heard of this problem before. I'm
stuck now because AAP will not load with the partial install.

P.S. It would be nice to have an "Update" install option which doesn't require
the copying of all the cels, flcs, etc which I already have. Maybe I missed it
but it would also be nice to have some written material describing the upgrade
install procedure.
Jason — you might want to check out the contents of the disks and make sure
the labels and the contents match. When I got my 3DS 2.01a update (I think)
Disk 4 was actually a copy of Disk 2 with a "4" label — I had to get a copy of
D4 from my dealer. Just a thought.

David,
Thanks but I tried ALL the disks and got the same problem. I also checked the
disk ID file on each and they were okay.
Alec Jason
Well then, it sounds like you need an upgrade to your upgrade, eh?<g>
Dave
Alec,
It sounds like you got a defective disk of some sort. Just take it back to your
dealer and they will get you a new set of disks.
-Brian
Alec, you can return the defective disks through a Dealer as Brian suggests, or
I can take care of getting replacement media for you. I'll want the old disks
back for our QA guys to analyse.
If you'd like the disks directly, send me an e-mail (not forum) message with
the AAPro serial number and your street address & phone no.

Jeff,
Please disregard the email message I sent you. I don't need new disks — the
problem is with my computer or drive.
I finally remembered that I have a network! So, I went and tried the install
through another computer and the disks all read and loaded fine.
Thanks anyway,
Alec Jason
Okay. Glad to hear it all worked out fine.
