Hi Renderfreaks I've a little Question : Which size must have a Image for a Iris-Print ( or Cromalin) to be very brilliant. Because i'd make an Image with a mapping of 2MB ( Text and color) and a resolution of 1024×768. I want to have a Printsize of DIN A4 but the maps are very blurred. Are the maps to small or the Rendersize?? I'd turned off all blur effects like in materialeditor and configuration. Shall i use 2048 x 2048 for a good Print?

<<Because i'd make an Image with a mapping of 2MB ( Text and color) and a resolution of 1024×768. If I understand correctly there are two issues. 1) A 2mb map ( if it fills the whole scene ) is small for 1024×768 or larger output. One pixel of the map would be spread across two or more pixels of the output. 2) You dont mention the final print output size. Perhaps 1024×768 is too small for the final size and requires resampling up which also causes image degradation after a certain point. Also if the map is shown not perpendicular to the camera at a sharp angle it may not be sharp. I have found that for still work maps should be roughly the same size ( perhaps slightly smaller, larger is overkill ) as the area they will occupy in the output. I do lots of Iris prints and have had good results with 2000+ x 2000+ pixel images resampled up ( the service bureau does this ) for 10"x10" final print. Also dont forget to give the service bureau a CMYK file. Hope this helps Ed

Thanks, now i will render with : printsize (inch) x 300 dpi and it work very good. by the way, do you where i can get digitized explosion in fl* format to simulate an explosion with a mapping because the ipas dont work fast enough and a dig. explosion is much better…it`s real. Thanks again …hope you can understand my broken english SWEN

Have you thought about turning on 'filter maps' in the render dialog ? Michael

Hi, yes i did,thanks but i find the error i `ve to render with: printsize in inch x 300dpi=resolution ( at most 1800 x 1350 for 7 x 7 inch print ) thanks Swen
