I am experiencing an anomoly with LenzFx. I just upgraded to 3DS r4c1 and got LenzFX at the same time. When I render an effect, it doesn't seem to matter which one, 3D Studio pages to disk before all available ram is used. For example: 12Mb avail. 7Mb used The swap file varies in size, but this only seems to happen with LenzFX. I have 16Mb of ram, DOS 6.2. Any suggestions? Thanks, Bill -Bill Wehler

Bill, Although I have no suggestions I've noticed the same problem with my lenzfx I have 40MB of RAM and still it swaps before all available is used. I've even querried Digimation about it- they are supposed to send me the latest version of lenzfx, but I have yet to recieve it. Also I'm not certain any problems will be fixed related to swapping. BTW what version are you using of LEnzfx? confounded – Jeff N-Image Alabama

>>> Bill, Although I have no suggestions I've noticed the same problem with my lenzfx I have 40MB of RAM and still it swaps before all available is used. <<< This remindes me of what was once referred to as a "Memory Leak" problem with another IPAS Routine. I can't remember which routine that was but if anyone else remembers maybe that would help Digimation nail down the problem. I'm certain that that "memory leak" problem was solved in the past. I just can't recall which routine it was with. Anyone Remember? Murph'

Jeff, I have version 1.3 LenzFX. There was a fix for old IPAS routines, before version 3, I believe, that did something similar, but that should be fixed by now. Well, I guess I feel a little better knowing I'm not the only one. Maybe Digimation has an answer. Bill -Bill Wehler

>> I am experiencing an anomoly with LenzFx. Who isn't? <BG> No really, LenZFX is still a _fairly_ buggy program. Hopefully the new release will clear up a lot of these issues. Also, if you haven't tried it yet the time envelopes for Aura (not sure about the others) don't work for crap. Even if you've got only two key frames, say 0 and 90, and you want to make a glow change in size, Aura will create abrupt steps instead of a nice smooth change. This one just boggles my mind. How can it be difficult to increment something by 1/90 at every frame? Just plain poor coding is all. LenzFX _can_ produce some fantastic stuff, but at the expense of a lot of screwing around. If only I could do without it…. DM
