#Smoke filled room

Anyone has any ideas on modelling a torch light sweeping around a room where there is smoke near the ceiling (such as in the case of a fire). Is this possible without using any third-party add-on routines?

Would layered fog work here? I don't konw I never tried it. But give it a try. -Kouros.
