#Off center screen
5 messages in this thread
I recently installed a Viper Pro w/4Meg Vram into a 486 VLB. When I adjust the
resolution and the centering for DOS, whem I bring up 3DStudio the screen is
off to one side. If I adjust so that the 3DS screen is centered, DOS is off.
I can use the monitor adjustment knob to correct thei, and I've noticed nothing
else wrong, but I would like to find out what would cause this. Any help
would be appreciated.
Thanks, Dale
There should be an install, or setup, program that came with tthe card. With
this program you should be able to adjust screen centering, horizontal and
vertical frequencies, etc. You may want to play with these for the different
screen resolutions.

i've had the same problem with two or three different video cards, and
the screen adjustments never seem to translate prefectly between
windows, dos, and 3ds. i've basically learned to live with, and just
readjust the monitor every time i go into 3ds.

(PMJI, I didn't catch the original message but…) I suspect that it's not the
cards but either 1) you don't have an autosizing monitor w/ user presets or, if
you do, 2) you haven't setup the user presets yet. My Nec 5FG has user presets
and always displays centered full screen but it does so _only_ after I
programmed it for the nonstandard resolutions.
Hope this helps, sea ya!
