#AAplayer on OS2
5 messages in this thread
Is it possible to run the Aaplayer under OS2? I have tried this out of DOS and
OS2 windows. I always receive a Pharlap error message and Device already in
use warning. I would like to play FLCs and SLDs from OS2 without having to go
back to DOS.

Are you refering to AAWIN (Windows Player) or ANIPLAY (DOS Player)? Or somethng
else? I have run the windows player in OS/2. For the DOS player, you should
make sure you have the latest version, it has an update to the Pharlap version.

I am using the player which came with the CD rom to the Inside 3D Studio book
by New Riders publishing 1994. I think they call it AAPLAYH for some reason;
at least that is the name of the directory it installs. Can I adjust the
Pharlap using the 3DS utility Cfig386?

AAPLAYHI, which I think is what you are using, will not play in a DOS shell
under Windows. This is because of the version of Phar Lap used. I think it may
have the same problem under OS/2. There is a version of Aniplay which ships
with ANIPRO 1.3 which has updated the version of phar Lap used and does work
under Windows. That would probably work under OS/2 as well, if Phar Lap is
really the problem.

Peter,
I use cfig386 on the aniplay.exe all the time. I usually set Max -v = 0 so
that the player loads faster on Dos 6 machines.
I assume you can do the same on aniplay high.
