What is your opinion about the "new" Animator Studio?..I got the Demo-CD, and it looks pretty good……then again, so does EVERY demo disk!! What are some of your "real-world" opinions?

It seems to have a lot of bugs at this point. I've had it crash several times and nobody (Auo try everything out.

>> It seems to have a lot of bugs at this point. << some are bugs, some are conflicts with other programs and settings. it's a 1.0 product too, remember. gads, anyone remember the nightmare of DOS 4.0, Coredraw 4.0? Wordperfect 6.0? etc. >> I've had it crash several times and nobody (Autodesk customer support) seems to know why. It's also VERY slow if you're trying to work with full screen animations – as you may be used to doing with AnimatorPro. << we're in windows. 16-bit EOS. Pharlap kicks serious pixel butt. what can i say? have you tried working with uncompressed formats as a session tactic? things load and save much faster. >> Seems like it was designed with Windows .AVI in mind – 320×240 size, but chokes on 640×480 (I have a P75 with 48 MB RAM). << quadrupled data… figures it would handle it about…. 25% as fast. <g> >> On the positive side, there are a lot of great controls and features. I haven't worked with is long enough (too many crashes, freezes) to try everything out. << keep at it. a lot more in there than most folks realize. -dave

<the two compliment each other very well. Why so? According to the users manual in Animator Studio it seems to claim it can do the same things as anipro just differently. May be except POCO. Please explain your points further. Thanks a lot. Mei-Tien

Mei-Tien, There are several things that Animator Studio is capable of doing like Animator Pro. However, a feature such as manipulating an 8 bit palette is not present in Animator Studio. Features that are specific to 8 bit shine in Animator Pro while Animator Studio is more capable in the 24 bit arena. Jh
