Hello, I'm not sure whether you are the right person to be contacting, but if you could help, this is the problem: I have used aaplay for Windows, and know that when you run an animation normally, you have to go through the aawin menu first. However, I have noticed some other programs which use aawin, do not seem to do this, but run the animation sstraight after the copyright notice as a full screen, with no other keys to press. At present I have the code written in Turbo Pascal for Windows to run a screensaver, and would like it to be able to run my animations (Preferably using aawin without having to go through its main menu), can you help? I have very limited experience with Windows, but I have used AAPlay for DOS, and have written programs which call AAPlay, for use with screensavers from within programs eg : (exec('aaplay go.fli'')), without using the menu, can the same thing be done within windows using aawin? I hope you can help Nigel Whiterod Diskxpress Media Services (CD Manufacture)

Nigel, Here's your answer: You need to create a new program item in one of your Windows program groups. Under working directory, type the path of aawin, plus the path of the animation and "-r". For example: C:\AAWIN\AAWIN.EXE C:\ANIMFILE\ANIMATION.AAS -R This should flip you into full screen mode right after the ADESK logo is momentarily displayed. Hope it works. Now, can some one answer one for me: I can't get the transitions to work in AAWIN (the fades). The transitions button is always "dehighlighted" and inoperable, no matter what kind of file I'm loading. Any ideas out there as to how to get my fades working? Tom Marlin Studios

<<However, I have noticed some other programs which use aawin, do not seem to do this, but run the animation sstraight after the copyright notice as a full screen, with no other keys to press.>> In addition to the -r tip. which will play the animation right from double clicking on the icon, they are playing script (.AAS) files. In the script they can pre-set things like FULL SCREEN and attach sounds, etc. Or, they may be programming to access the AAPLAY.DLL directly, and are bypassing AAWIN.EXE alltogether. There is a developers kit called the Animation Support Libraries. -Brian Animation Support Libraries: This developers kit includes C and Visual Basic Programmers reference manuals for the Windows Player, Fliclib and File Format manuals, Code examples and other support files, POCO and POE reference manuals, and more. You can order this kit directly from Autodesk by calling 800-964-6432. The kit costs about $25. "Animation Support Libraries R2.0 SAP# 03302-013303-9000".
