>>On the other hand maybe the strong belief that we seem to hold as a culture,
that we lose creative imagination as we get older, is not supported in reality.
BTW this belief in a more creative innocent childhood is a reletivly recent
phenonoma, developing during the romantic period and influenced by the writings
of Rousseau.<<
Trying not to complain, i think feeling young and creative is not_at_all a
question of age. As you mentioned, 'childhood' like it is known today was an
invention of the romantic period, before this nobody made a difference between
children or adults. Beeing creative is a question of personal freedom and
opportunity to work, not of the date of your birth.
As Joseph Beuys said: "Everybody is an artist".
>> Computers fool these folks into thinking that there is a painless way to
produce without preperation.<<
This is the bad point about this fact. Not only computers make them think so.
It is a question of total lack of orientation about culture and ways to go. And
this becomes true for all of us. Who can tell what is worth to be produced and
what is not?
What kind of culture does this machine i'm working on? On one hand it is
absolutely exiting to use all the technical features for worldwide
communication with words and
grapher K.
Hello Peter, you can disregard a previous message if you get it, I meant to

Given the effects that tv has had on recent generations (not just the content
but the effects of the medium ) I wouldnt be suprised if the advent of virtual
reality will change our children into different kinds of humans. I mean real VR
not the primitive toys out now. People will dissapear into a world where their
only imput is designed by companies. When Patti Hearst's imputs were totally
controlled by the symbionese liberation army she was transformed into one of
them. The central message of those who will control the content of our
childrens total enviornment in VR ( and now really ) seems to be " all you are
is a consumer, you have no spirit , you are what you drive ( wear etc.) "The
other message is "Got a problem? Kill it".
On the other hand I would love to have the resources to work. large scale, in
such a medium.
