Yeah, there is a windows capture utility that comes with newer T+ cards. If you can't dig it up, let me know and I'll post it to you. Jim

Hi Jim I have this capture utility. It came with the targa's developers tool kit. One thing is there's no doc's on how too use it. I haven't figured out how too use it yet. Mike White

>> I haven't figured out how too use it yet. Are you talking about the windows capture utility for the T+? I could xerox and mail you my documentation if that will help. Jim

Thanks, Jim. I went back and looked at the software they shipped me (circa 1993, even though we just bought the card) and noticed a Win capture program, but you have to load the Win drivers for the Targa+ card to use it. I was hoping to continue to run Windows on the video card in the machine, and only use the Targa for capturing/rendering (a two monitor solution). I'm going to go ahead and try the DOS utility you put together and see what kind of quality I get from the board. If it's better than my Fast card, then I may keep pursuing the Windows thing (because I really like controlling the Sanyo with my VB program). I'll know as soon as my Targa cables come in (I ordered them a week ago).

I use my ATI Ultra Pro to run windows, and the T+ win utils and capture work with it. The T+ is connected to a monitor and a VTR. I can get quick snapshots from video this way if I need it. Most of the time I rotoscope with TGRAB5P, though. Have you tried installing the windows utils? Lord knows that I too wouldn't want to try to run windows through the T+! Jim

> Have you tried installing the windows utils? Lord knows that I too wouldn't want to try to run >windows through the T+! Nope, I was just reading the manuals and they clearly state you can't use the Windows capture without installing and using the Windows drivers (running Windows on the T+). But I got my cables today, so I'll try and install the card and software and see how far I get on all this (maybe the docs are wrong!).

>>Nope, I was just reading the manuals and they clearly state you can't use the Windows capture without installing and using the Windows drivers (running Windows on the T+).<<< Understood. No, I never did this. I just tried them and they worked. You use the windows I/O utility to set the incoming signal, then capture with the capture utility. I've never set up my T+ to display the windows interface. Jim
